"I want to thank everyone who came out to vote.
While the outcome is not what I had hoped for, our team worked very hard and I am extremely grateful for that.
I wish John Kissel & Carol Hall the best.
I especially want to thank my team and all of the people who supported me.
It was a long haul.
Most importantly I'm proud to have been on the ticket with John Santanella and Rick LeBorious, two of the finest and respectful men, I got to know better through this experience.
Thank you."
Cynthia Mangini
ENFIELD, Connecticut — Successful area Realtor and Enfield Town Councilor Cynthia Mangini announced that she will seek election to the 7th state Senate district, representing East Granby, Ellington, Enfield, Granby, Somers, Suffield, Windsor & Windsor Locks.
“Our district needs a state Senator who does more than just raise his hand every so often during attendance,” said Mangini. “We need someone who will stand up for us, someone who will fight for the middle class, and ensure that our children, seniors, families, and small businesses are getting the support they deserve. It’s time residents had a Senator who returns calls, writes back and who will bring money and appropriate funding back to our district. After 30 years of the failure to pass even one bill, we deserve a Senator who can deliver.”
Mangini, a grandmother raising her two grandchildren in Enfield, is running on a platform of expanding protections for reproductive healthcare, continuing to cut taxes for working and middle-class families and seniors. Mangini will work to make it easier to open a small business in Connecticut, and fight for the needs of farmers and blue collar workers.
She has decades of experience serving on the Enfield Town Council, board member of the National League of Cities, NLC’s public finance committee, and a board member of the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities. Municipal budgets must be balanced. Similarly, state government must be held to the same standard and be fiscally responsible.
